Experimental results show that “Durastream” is more resistant to discolouration than competitor products, even when exposed to direct sunlight and heat. CPVC compound “Durastream” is a product that can replace many thermoplastics commonly used in outdoor applications.

Continued exposure to UV radiation generally damages thermoplastics. Materials not only discolour, but also become brittle and prone to breakage.
Impact resistance retention (IZOD) is an excellent way to measure and compare the degree of degradation and structural integrity of different materials. This test simulates continuous exposure to sunlight. Higher retention means less degradation and higher impact strength.
The test results show that compared to competitive products, “Durastream” is able to maintain its impact strength under continuous sunlight.
